Shoot Digital
Which camera is better for a digital video shoot?

For those of you who are film-makers, I would like your Comment on this topic. I am interested in my films to the screen, but will probably shoot most of my movies on digital video, because I believe most of them are likely to be low budget. For all in this sense, the cinematographer, would you get to shoot for a digital? A cameraman had more experience on 35mm film or a cameraman, whose experience is grounded on digital video? I would be interested in hearing your thoughts and advice appreciated. Thank you!

After recording the ragged-but-right Let It Be, the group held on for this ambitious effort, an album that was to become their best-selling. Though all four contribute to the first side’s writing, John Lennon’s hard-rocking, “Come Together” and “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” make the strongest i…

A man runs through deserted night streets, stalked by the lights of a car. It’s a definitive film noir situation, promptly sidetracked–yet curiously not undercut–by real-life slapstick: watching over his shoulder for pursuers, the running man charges smack into a lamppost. The figure that helps him to his feet is not one of the pursuers (they’ve oddly disappeared) but an anonymous passerby…

Based on Thomas Harris’s novel, this terrifying film by Jonathan Demme really only contains a couple of genuinely shocking moments (one involving an autopsy, the other a prison break). The rest of the film is a splatter-free visual and psychological descent into the hell of madness, redeemed astonishingly by an unlikely connection between a monster and a haunted young woman. Anthony Hopkins is ext…
