If a Camcorder Canon XHA1 PRO is purchased in the U.S., there will be no trouble to use it in Europe?
I come from Europe and wants Buy a camcorder Canon XHA1 PRO, but the price in Europe is much too high. If I buy in the U.S., I will have difficulties to use it in Europe, due to the different standards or something else?
Yes, because Europe is mostly PAL, whereas the 50i, NTSC is 60i. It does not really matter if you shoot 24f because you can remove pulldown and then make speed by 4% to 25 images per second are, but if you shoot any of the other modes, then it will not to be compatible. If you need an inexpensive but high quality camera, I recommend the Canon HV20/HV30. I have the HV20 and the picture quality is comparable or even better than the XH-A1 samples I've seen, especially because it shoots true 24p as "fake" mode 24f. You can probably get one for around $ 600 online (see, eg HV20.com). Hope this helps!
