MAX $ 250 digital camera, AWESOME zoom functions, battery is a MUST!?
I'm looking for a digital camera that is not more than $ 250 AWESOME Zoom functions and a rechargeable battery (a camera that you plug in the wall during the night and strength for the next morning as your cell phone lol). I'm so tired of digital cameras that take AA batteries, even if they are rechargeable. It costs too much money on WAY! Whatever .. I need a zoom with a large, because I love photography, but do not know where to start. So, I need big zoom because I go to many concerts and sometimes I get bad seats which are so far from the Stage, that is a basic digital camera is not enough to enlarge a decent picture. Please help me out here! Thank you very much! PS I wanted the Kodak Z712 review received, but said that it eats batteries like crazy. It makes excellent zoom though! It has 7.0 MP and 12x optical zoom! Is there something with a rechargeable battery?
Try looking Canon PowerShot SD1000. Battery, 7.1 megapixels and 12 x zoom. Everything you are looking for in your price range. 
I have an occasional recordings and it's great. Very compact. EDIT: Sorry, I just saw that you wanted to optical zoom. This camera has 3x optical zoom, but it can be as high as at 12 x zoom.
