Lens Digital

Can a lens be used on a digital movie camera?
I see many people on the Internet, using their old film lenses on a digital camera. I'm going the other direction, even with a film camera, but want to get different lenses. It seems that most lenses are advertised these days on condition they digital design, so that it becomes harder to find lenses that are specific to the film cameras. Assuming I stay with the same brand, versionsmovie, etc., I can a lens on a digital camera and if so, related question. I have seen stabilazion lenses with built-in image. If this function when combined with used a film camera?
It is obvious the first two responders are not using professional equipment (it's okay … we can all have something Learning). The answer to your question is YES … but it depends on the lens! Some lenses are full-frame lenses for smaller sensors while others' made some "DSLR bodies. I can examples of Nikon and Olympus on the basic concept of self-checking your lenses fit, regardless of the mount system. For Nikon and Canon, just about everyone, but use the smaller upper end of the camera 'dx' large sensors. Since these sensors are smaller, they do not need so much glass Photo, effective as many lens makers currently offer lenses designed for the DX sensor. These lenses can not be used on full frame sensors. At the upper end of both Nikon and Canon, they offer full frame DSLR sensors. If you use a lens for the smaller DX sensor built on top of one of these full-frame DSLR sensor, then yes, you will see vignetting, "where the cornes of the picture dramatically darkened. No, many lens makers offer full-frame lenses such as Sigma, Canon and Nikon. These lenses will work with both types of sensors, but they are made larger and heavier than an equivalent size dx only lens. A few examples of some Nikon lenses now that work on both DSLR and film SLR bodies … Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 Nikon 50mm f/1.4 Nikon 50mm f/1.8 Nikon 85mm f/1.4 Nikon 85mm f/1.8 Sigma 150mm f/2.8 What is built, it depends on the film body. You must say to you here or check with the body / lens manufacturer. HTH.
